About Braefield House

Welcome to Braefield House

High above the picturesque harbor of Portpatrick, Braefield House awaits—a lovingly restored Georgian country house overlooking the Irish Sea. It is a place where warm hospitality, relaxed comfort, and the joy of fine living take center stage.

With just seven individually designed rooms, a cozy whisky lounge, an intimate wine bar, and seasonal cuisine by Jonas Schäfer, Braefield House is intentionally personal. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense, but a space for attentive hosting, tranquility, and the small details that make a stay truly special.

Whether it’s the view of the sea through the original sash windows, a carefully selected single malt by the fireplace, or a glass of wine after a day on the coast—Braefield House is more than just a place to stay. It is a place to arrive, unwind, and return to.

From the original sash windows overlooking the Irish Sea to our hand-picked single malts—this is not a hotel. It is a home.
